I was looking for a bag that held it all- 40 oz simple modern water cup, 20oz coffee tumbler, my 15.5inch laptop, 3 notebooks, pen bag & had a string to attach my work badge or keys to. On top of that- I wanted something brown, something soft, something trendy & not so “purse-looking” or “boxy” since that’s all I could find anywhere. Originally I wanted a Calpak Haven Bag but that runs around $170 & I needed an alternative that had the same vibe- simple, modern- looking bag, no obvious branding, pockets large enough to carry my water & coffee, laptop sleeve, inner pockets for glasses & more.. I can’t even explain how happy I am with this bag. It is soft but durable, it’s PRETTY, it carries EVERYthing & still has space for more. Sits comfortable on the shoulder & the longer strap option makes it easy to take anywhere & be hands free if need-be. Don’t sleep on Simple Modern, they do it alllll.
Also- I read that only the vegan leather options have inner laptop sleeves, I can attest to it now that my vegan leather brown bag has a laptop sleeve. My laptop doesn’t fit horizontally in the sleeve but I’m fine with the vertical fit, especially since the bag has a zipper & even placing my laptop vertically- the zipper easily closes.. so nice to know I’ll never have to worry about rain when walking from my car to my job. Everything about this bag is just 🙌🏽 LOVE IT, BUY IT, YOU WONT REGRET IT.

I use this bag as my “mom” bag. I have a toddler that is past the diaper bag phase, but I still need something to hold a change of clothes, snacks, sunscreen, etc. I also carry a lot of just in case stuff for my husband and I.
Pros- I love the look of the bag. The vegan leather wipes off nicely if something spills. Lots of large interior pockets. Enough room for a bag organizer and my belt bag (I carry only my belt bag if I’m doing a quick errand but toss it in here when we are out as a family) I can fit my large water cups plus still have room for my son’s sippy as well.
Cons- (This will seem like a long list, but I am overall happy with purchase and none are dealbreakers for me) Wish there was another interior zipper pocket. The sunglasses pocket is nice, but kind of small. Also would be nice if both sides of the bag had some kind of exterior pockets. Having a smaller pocket I could slip my phone into would be nice. The laptop compartment is kind of small. I don’t plan to use this as a work bag, but I tried my 15″ laptop and it did fit, but seemed tight. Also, they put the laptop compartment on the same side of the bag as the large exterior pockets so there is no way my Trek and laptop would fit at the same time. I don’t think a larger laptop would fit at all. The crossbody strap is nice, but too narrow to be comfortable when the bag is loaded up. I bought a wider replacement strap off Amazon and it looks and feels nice.

I love this bag! It is the perfect size and looks great. It has multiple pockets—including one for a laptop, two for smaller items, and two water bottle holders. The two types of straps (both the messenger-bag and shoulder-bag style) make it very convenient and easy to use. I use this bag when traveling for work or for attending school. The zip-top makes it great for travel, and it’s the perfect size for a personal item carryon when flying. I doubt that the fake leather of this product would pass muster with someone well-informed (or someone who cares about having real leather) but it still looks great for normal everyday use, especially for the price. I will say that some of the seams do seem to be coming loose after a few months of regular use. Again, given the affordable pricing, this isn’t a surprise and the bag does seem to have a number of months or years left in it.

I got this bag after really looking for a good messenger bag to carry my laptop ipad keyboard cords etc to class, i got a couple other options as well to decide which to return when i received them. this one was the best by far.
it has so many pockets to organize and keep it from being an internal junk pile. the pockets on the side of the interior as well as the front pockets are all large enough to hold a travel water bottle. there is a clip for keys or a wallet as i used it.
laptop compartment is padded well, though i will say i can’t fit my laptop (Macbook Air 15”) in its travel case, into this pocket. i’m not surprised though that’s asking a lot, its like 18” clearance within the travel case, it fits without it, but i’m clumsy and the padding isn’t quite thick enough to have faith in it if i dropped the bag on the sidewalk. But my ipad in its travel case fits in there perfectly so i just use it for that and put my laptop into the main compartment. with that i still have room for two pouches of cords and my mouse, a type writer style keyboard, my camera case, and my external hard drives case, with room for more! and i can still zip it closed!
the handles are long enough to use over your arm, and the shoulder strap gets long enough to wear it crossbody, it doesn’t come loose and slowly get longer either. i set the length and it stayed. honestly perfect strap.
gold hardware is lovely, hasn’t tarnished or anything yet, easy to match with gold keychains or whatever. generally just like it more than if it was silver or black.
i fill this thing up regularly, use it almost everyday, and i’m not gentle. but it’s still doing great, no problems with the handles or the shoulder strap.
I did add a couple things i think really take it up a notch, but the bag is 5 stars without them. I got a separate shoulder strap padding because though the strap is wide and comfy, i really pack this thing and it gets heavy, the extra padding saves my shoulder on long days. i also sewed on two rings to the strap, one to hook my keys on and one for my wallet or whatever else. both also purchased on amazon if you’re interested.
overall, i think anyone who needs any sort of travel bag would like this bag, it fits a lot of needs. it’s constructed well, feels nice and the material doesnt feel cheap at all. best bag at the price point by far!
