I think that these are fairly expensive for sandals.. plain old flip flops… But I needed some for a trip where I am going to be at the beach a lot and also walking in them a lot.. I decided to spend a bit more money and splurge on reefs I always envy on others.
cons:
-I think that they are a bit expensive and they are made a bit cheaper than they once were. Its sad when companies cut costs or dont pay attention to how their products are being made when they have a reputation on the line. I can tell from previous years that the material is a bit cheaper.
-They look less expensive as well. These dont have as much as the reef look seeing that they are so simple you cant see any branding on them…
– Reefs are rather narrow. They perfectly fit my feet, but I would never buy them for my sister without her trying them on first because they are a narrow fitting sandal… Its easy for them to make your feet look wider and bigger because the straps are so skinny, so if you dont have more delicate feet you should consider trying them on before blindly ordering them online.
pros:
– there is no denying that these are comfortable. They are spongy and they have a slight arch support that is hard to find in regular cheap flip flops.
– the simplicity of their design and the thin straps make them easy to wear with jeans, and if you are lazy like me with skirts and dresses. they are feminine enough.
– they are fine getting wet (which most sandals should be)
-you dont have to break them in. You ever buy sandals and the middle part between your toes gets sore and you have to break them in? these are really soft and comfortable.. the moment that i put them on it was like i had them forever… nothing uncomfortable and the strap material is really soft and flexible.
Overall I am happy that I have a pair. I might do some more research and buy a different pair of reefs next year that are a tad more exciting, but for the purposes of a good everyday flip flop these are comfortable and attractive
I wear a size 7.5 and I bought the size 8 which fit well.

I’ve been wearing these reefs as my basic black pair of sandals for 15 years. They are extremely comfortable. They have good support. I can walk miles in them without my feet hurting. They are made well and last a long time. In the 15 years I’ve been wearing them this is only the 3rd pair I’ve had to buy.

I’ve been wearing these for years! For some reason, I have a hard time finding them in stores now, so I’m glad Amazon carries them! I just got back from a full day trip to Disneyland. I walked over 12 miles in these shoes and didn’t get a single blister and my feet held up! They are still flip flops, but surprisingly supportive. Overall, my feet weren’t too sore which I think is amazing for flip flops! They also last really well. I would say at least a couple years if not more! I had to throw away my last pair only because my puppy chewed one up. I hope they never stop making these! 🩴 🩴

I purchased these again in April of 2016 to replace a pair I had destroyed in the garden and I must admit I was surprised when I read the recently disappointing review of this shoe. I have been wearing these for almost 10 years now and was secretly inside praying that they were not as bad as the reviews said. Unfortunatly I was wrong; the quality is not the same and size is completely different from when I purchased in 2014. First off the shoe is no longer made in the USA – it is now made in Mexico and the sticker on the sole clearly states that. The sole is also made of a cheaper plastic than the original shoe I bought 2 yrs ago. Secondly, as so many other people stated the sizes are much smaller now. When I purchased this in 2014 I ordered a size 6 and it fit my foot like a glove. I again ordered the 6 and I could barely get my foot in the strap – my foot has not grown in 2 years, I am 30 yrs old and past puberty. I must change my review from a 5 star to a 3 star because of these two things. It is a shame that the quality had to change in order to keep the cost the same – I would have gladly paid $2-3 more for the same shoe at the quality I received in 2014. I am not even sure if I will continue to purchase this product anymore either. The experience has been very upsetting and disappointing.
June 2014 Review:
I had been wearing a pair of these flip flops for 7 years and was devastated when they finally broke down to the point where I could not wear them anymore. Being the Amazon search guru I am, I took to the marketplace and was again not disappointed when I discovered Amazon carried this product and at almost the same price I had paid for them 7 years before. I purchased this pair approximately 6 months ago and again they continue to delight me. The arch in the middle is wonderful in preventing flat foot. The flip flop is clearly made with decent quality as the fabric is inside the rubber part. The fit is comfortable and does not make blisters on my foot like certain rubber flip flop styles do. Highly recommend this style, I have been wearing it for years and will continue to do so as long as Reef continues to make it!
