I have worn this hat on a few hikes out in the sunshine, and it’s done a decent job of protecting my face from the sun–which is important, since I’m allergic to sunscreen. It is lightweight and packs flat, so it takes up little room. It doesn’t look particularly great on me, but I don’t hike to look good, so that’s not a big deal. The other caveat: on windy days, the brim blows back, thus decreasing its effectiveness quite a bit.

I look foolish in most hates. But in this hate I look very studly, let me assure you. Keeps the sun off my head, ears, and some of my shoulder. It fits well (medium adult men’s head), color looks like what it is in the picture. It’s comfortable and it is very durable.

This hat is great for boating. It doesn’t blow off in the wind and when you get it wet, it dries quickly. Also, it is very light weight and comfortable. It breaths well, so your head doesn’t get sweaty. You can fold it up and store it in a bag or tight spaces.

Wore this hat while backpacking the Camino for a month. The hat was good, stayed on really well and because it was so lightweight, it didn’t feel like it was going to fly off even in really windy weather. Unfortunately, the bottom half of my face would still get sunburnt even if I wore the hat for the entire day. Even though I couldn’t feel the sun, I would find sunburns from under my eyes to my chin if I forgot to reapply. But the hat itself was breathable and seemed to do well protecting my neck and the top hat of my face. I honestly would buy again, it was a decent hat and was perfect for putting in my backpack, it folded easily with no creases. Color was accurate and is adjustable around your head and under your chin, so it should fit pretty much anyone.
